1976 I’m sure was the year… when the Vauxhall Chevette was launched in Scotland at the Royal Scottish Automobile Club in Blythswood Square here in Glasgow.
At that time my father worked for a Vauxhall/Bedford dealership before starting our family company in 1978 – so this really was, at the tender age of 6 years old, my own motor trade debut.
And here we are to this day – a generation later still enjoying life in the motor trade dealing with van sales and rental.
