As we say this is a period in our past that were not keen to remember. This was one of our 7.5-ton, self-drive rental trucks around 2001 in Argyll, Scotland, used for a house move from Campbeltown to France (he didn’t get very far), when a wide HGV came the other way over a blind summit and forced our Iveco 7.5 box van off the road. A serious moment in my career when I sat on that bank, head in my hands, thinking, ‘is it all worth it?’
Thankfully we ‘pulled our socks up’ and moved on. The joys of a family car and van rental business! (Thankfully the driver and passengers were unhurt and the vehicle was fully insured.)
